In Arabic, the root word for love and seed is the same. Ḥubb (حُبّ) means love, while ḥabb (حَبّ) means seed.
The two are deeply connected. Just as a seed grows in the soil, love is a seed that grows in the heart. Both need nourishment, care, and patience. Both go through trials and hardships in their early stages. Both remain hidden at first, until one day they begin to reveal themselves outwardly. By then, they have already developed deep roots beneath the surface.
As time passes, they continue to grow—from a tiny sprout into a strong plant, and eventually into a mighty tree. The very things that caused them to begin growing are the same things that continue to nourish and strengthen them. In time, the tree bears fruit, all from a single seed.
A good seed grows into a good tree. It produces good fruit and spends its lifetime serving others. People may throw stones at it, yet it responds only by giving fruit. Its shade is spread for everyone, offering comfort without discrimination.
Such is the nature of true love. It begins as a tiny seed hidden within the heart, but when nurtured with sincerity, patience, and care, it grows into something that benefits not only the one who carries it, but everyone around them.
Every enduring love begins as a hidden seed. Its greatest strength is not seen in its branches, but in the depth of its roots. The deeper the roots, the stronger it stands against the storms of life.
Just as every fruit carries within it another seed, every act born from true love plants new seeds in the hearts of others. In this way, love continues to grow, spreading from one heart to another, generation after generation. Every great tree was once a hidden seed, and every lasting love was once a quiet feeling planted in the heart.
For a believer, Rabi al-Awwal is an opportunity to plant and nurture this very seed within the believer’s heart. It is an effort, but it is also a season. Many personal incidents related to Rasulullah ﷺ occurred in Rabīʿ al-Awwal.
To love a person, one should either see them, hear about their greatness, or come to know them deeply. Without any of these, the seed of love cannot grow within the heart.
This very love is the basis of all our goodness. Through this ḥubb, love for Nabi ﷺ enters and takes root in the heart, and from this love, all other loves bear fru
it: love for the Creator and love for His creation.
Through one and only door of Muhammad Rasulullah ﷺ enters the vast house of all goodness and righteousness of Islam.
