Modernity has changed the way we think and view things. It's like the number 9; for someone standing on the other side, it will be seen as 6. If you see someone opposing the ways of the early scholars and holding an exactly opposite view, understand that his problem is the platform or the side he is reading from. He is sincerely reading it as 6, and the only option to correct his view is to make him take the extra effort to take two more steps and come to the side of the majority of scholars, both past and present.
But taking that extra two steps is difficult today, as the modern, easy reading is by default 6. To be humble enough to come to the roots and stand on the side of 9 is one of the hardest things, but also one of the greatest tawfīq and the Hidayah in this modern age.
